Analysis of Salt Lake Volume Dynamics Using Sentinel-1 Based SBAS Measurements: A Case Study of Lake Tuz, Turkey

As one of the largest hypersaline lakes, Lake Tuz, located in middle Turkey, is a key waterbird habitat and classified as Special Environmental Protection Area country. It dynamic lake, highly affected by evaporation due to its wide expanse shallowness (water depth <40 cm), addition being externally exploited salt companies. Monitoring dynamics changes volume, which cause ecological problems, required protect saline lake functions. In this context, spatially homogeneous distributed gauge could be critical for monitoring rapid response; however, number stations their vicinity insufficient entire lake. The present study focuses on assessing feasibility time-series interferometric technique, namely small baseline subset (SBAS), volume dynamics, based freely available Sentinel-1 data. A levelling observation was also performed quantify accuracy SBAS results.
